The next system software update for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) system will be released on April 1, 2010, and will disable the “Install Other OS” feature that was available on the PS3 systems prior to the current slimmer models, launched in September 2009. This feature enabled users to install an operating system, but due to security concerns, Sony Computer Entertainment will remove the functionality through the 3.21 system software update.

EA have revealed that the demo for Skate 3 will hit Xbox Live and PSN on April 15th. Make sure to give us your impressions in the forums on that day.

God of War III was released on March 16th, and since then PlayStation 3 owners everywhere have been helping Kratos take vengeance on the Gods of Olympus. Upon firing up God of War III today, you’ll be prompted to download a patch for the blockbuster title.

Although there hasn’t been many reported problems with God of War III, a patch has been released. Update 1.01 was just released moments ago, weighing in at 54mb. The update fixes wireless controller issues many users were having.

Major Nelson has confirmed that the previously rumoured Xbox 360 USB storage feature does exist, and will be heading our way on April 6th via a System Update. This feature allows for the use of USB storage devices to extend their 360's storage capacity. Up to two 16gb devices can be  plugged in at one time, allowing for an extra 32gb of storage, and will allow users to store profiles, games saves, demos and even full games. The feature is aimed at flash devices, however will work with external hard-drives also; although Major Nelson recommends using a flash device for the best experience.

Capcom have today revealed that the release date for Lost Planet 2 has been moved forward by a week - to the 11th May in the US. Not only that but a limited-access multiplayer demo will be released. This demo will originally only be available by those who have a key which are being distributed on the Official Site and various other media outlets such as Eurogamer. The codes will work from the 31st March on the 360 and April 1st on the PS3. The demo will then be available to everyone on 21st of April via Xbox Live and the 22nd of April via PSN.
